1 man, 4 metres underwater for two weeks and within 4 square metres: To launch the LEGOLAND Year of Records 2010, the Australian scientist and adventurer Lloyd Godson went down into the aquarium at LEGOLAND ATLANTIS by SEA LIFE in a tiny little underwater house on 30 March. It was a globally unique experiment.
336 hours later he surfaced again, having achieved a new Guinness World Record™. With his cycling pedals he generated 2,502 watt hours of electricity in the water. This is the largest amount of electric power that has ever been produced underwater in this way.
He lived in his 2.5 x 1.6 m domicile for a total of 14 days, watched by LEGOLAND visitors and 1,300 tropical fish. Linked to the outside world by telephone and the internet, he was asked lots of questions by numerous visitors.
It was an outstanding achievement with a successful conclusion: Congratulations, Lloyd Godson!
