The next project — "Life Amphibious"
Even at the end of the underwater experiment at LEGOLAND® ATLANTIS by SEA LIFE, Lloyd's underwater life will continue and his next big adventure is already in the works. With his project — "Life Amphibious" he will be diving into the depths again — lying in a mini-submarine. This time, however, he will not be living under water but travelling.

„Omer“ is the name of the torpedo-shaped vessel that Lloyd will be lying in. The name is a reference to the Greek poet Homer, who wrote about the journeys of Odysseus. James Bond would certainly have had his fun with this vessel.

What is special about this vehicle is the new type of propulsion system which some engineering students from Canada adopted from nature. It is reminiscent of the way in which rays move through water. Pure muscle power moves Omer forwards through the water — a challenge even for the athletic scientist. To build up his strength, he has developed himself from a casual marathon runner into a well-trained marathon athlete.

The first test runs this year have been a complete success. Especially the children on the Greek islands were amazed by the sight of the Omer. The next trip will be much longer. In 2010 he plans to journey the 100 sea miles under water from Corfu to Ithaca following the route of Homer's Odysseus. The intrepid Lloyd has no fears about undertaking an odyssey.
