Die-Seeigel e.V. [further information...]
Since the association was founded in 1991, "Die Seeigel" (Sea Urchin Association) has been actively involved in recreational diving and is a member of the VDST, BLTV and BLSV. Over the years, approximately 80 divers have been successfully trained within the association and completed the CMAS examination. As well as an educational centre at Günzburg's Waldbad pool, the association has a lovely recreational area with a clubhouse on the water sports lake in Günzburg. At present, 102 adults and children are members of the association. -
Die Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gesellschaft (DLRG) [further information...]
With over 2,100 local groups, the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) is the largest water rescue organisation in the world. Aside from swimming and lifeguard training and rescuing people from drowning, their goals include first aid in and around the water as well as disaster control. Approximately 63% of its members are children and young people under the age of 26. The Leipheim/Günzburg DLRG association has 450 members and has a modern control room which opened in 2008. It offers swimming courses for adults and children as well as weekly swim training sessions and aqua-jogging. An emergency water rescue response team as well as a diving team of the Swabian II disaster control water rescue unit are on stand-by around the clock. Courses in first aid, medical services, recreational and professional diving training, youth camps, youth clubs and of course lifeguard services on the waters in their assigned area complete their range of tasks. -
